Can you use the word of the day in a sentence?

Expanded noun phrases

This work will help us when we write a sound poem tomorrow.
Expanded noun phrases describe the noun (object). Look at this example below.





1.      Can you find any expanded noun phrases in the poem from yesterday?
2.      Can you listen out for sounds in your house and write four expanded noun phrases?
E.G. The bubbling of the thick, creamy soup.  In this example, the noun phrase is the soup and thick and creamy describe the soup.

3.      Can you listen out for sounds that come from outside and write four expanded noun phrases?

4.      Can you complete these sentences using an expanded noun phrase?
The creaking of the__________ floorboards.
The ticking of the___________ clock.
The humming of the________ blue bird.
The sighing of the __________ breeze.
The yawning of a_______________
The laughing of a ________________
