Perimeter This video will help you understand what the perimeter is https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6mopAgqjkVM Perimeter is the distance all around the edge of a shape. If we needed to build a fence all around our garden we would measure the perimeter of the garden. So to find the perimeter of this rectangle we need add 7 cm + 7 cm + 3cm + 3 cm = 20 cm What is the perimeter of these shapes? Show me the calculation you used to work it out. Challenge – can you use a multiplication fact to help you work out the perimeter of the triangle and the hexagon? How could you use the cm squares to help you to work out the perimeter of these rectangles? Challenge - can you draw some of your own shapes and find the perimeter of them?

Write a set of instructions. This week we have been looking at instructions and what they need to include. Today is Captain Toms 100th birthday.  Can you be inspired by him and do 100 of anything? It could be 100 jumps, turns of a hula hoop, steps, anything you want. You could send me photographs of you doing it. You could explain why Captain Tom is inspiring.

Topic Friday Saltaire - Salts Mill What can you find out about Saltaire? Show me what you have found out. It might be in the form of a picture or a model, or a poster. It is up to you and you can be as creative as you want. This is painting of Salts Mill by the Bradford artist David Hockney. Maybe you could produce your own picture of the mill or Saltaire in the style of Hockney. However, you might want to choose your own style. Look carefully at the shapes and sizes you can see and use your imagination.
