Multiplication - Grid method
First step - partition the number into tens and ones. 12 becomes 10 and 2.
Then multiply the tens (3 X 10 = 30)

After multiply the ones (3 X 2 = 6)
Finally add the two amounts together which equals 36.



Now can you show the answers to these calculations using the grid method?

They are used to explain how (manner), when (time) or where (place) something happens. A fronted adverbial is separated from the main clause with a comma. For example:  Early one morning,  Rohan went for a run in the park. The blue highlighted sections are all examples of fronted adverbials. Use these examples of fronted adverbials to finish the sentences. As I looked out of my window, Up in the sky, When I went for a walk, Next to the winding path, In the garden, On the kitchen table, In the corner of my bedroom, Challenge - can you think /find your own fronted adverbials and make up your own sentences?
