The Curriculum Challenge for today is to find out about
latitude and longitude, for those ready to take on the challenge, but make sure
you make sure you complete your English and maths first.
Plants Over the holidays, if you want to, it would be great if you could complete a science project on plants. You can focus any aspect that interests you. You might want to create labelled sketches or models out of paper, card or any other material. Here are some ideas of things you might want to find out about. Can you find out about what plants need to live? Can you label different parts of the plant? How is water transported around a plant? What do we mean by seed dispersal? Why is it so important that we look after bees in our country? This is your project so be as creative as you want. However, I would like it to include some written work. Extra merit points for those who do. Mental maths Practise your division facts for the 3 times table using this site. See if you are quicker than yesterday. https://www.topmarks.co.uk/maths-games/hit-the-button Divide these amounts by 10 130 ÷ 10 = 150 ÷ 10 = 170 ÷ 10 = 160 ÷ 10 = 200 ÷ 10 = 290 ÷ 10 = ? ÷ 10 = 14 ? ÷ 10 = 18 ? ÷ 10 = 21 ? ÷ 10 = 30 Can you check your calculations by doing the inverse operation? The inverse (opposite) operation would be to multiply by 10. 120 ÷ 10 = 12 and to check it we do 12 X 10 = 120 Now
